Poll Shows Majority of English Want Keir Starmer to Step Down

A recent poll in England reveals increasing dissatisfaction with the Labour Party leadership, as more than half of the population want Keir Starmer, Prime Minister and leader of the ruling party, to resign.
According to the survey conducted by the sociological firm BMG Research, 51 percent of respondents said the Labour Party should elect a new leader. In contrast, only 21 percent of participants indicated their support for Starmer’s continued leadership.
The poll was carried out on January 28 and 29 with 1,500 participants. Meanwhile, 28 percent of those surveyed expressed no clear opinion about the current Labour leadership.
The results also show Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham as a leading candidate to succeed Starmer. Twenty-four percent of respondents said they would be ready to vote for him if his name were proposed.
