Baloch Liberation Army Launches Coordinated Attacks on Pakistani Military Sites Across Balochistan

The group known as the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has announced a coordinated operation targeting Pakistani military facilities simultaneously in multiple cities across Balochistan province. The group stated that the attacks were carried out in at least 10 cities and represent one of its most extensive operations in recent months.

Pakistani officials said their security forces responded swiftly to the attacks and have brought the situation under control. However, as of the time of reporting, no official figures on possible casualties or the extent of the damage have been released.

In recent months, the security situation in Pakistan has deteriorated, with increasing attacks by armed groups, including the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan and separatist organizations such as the Baloch Liberation Army. These security challenges have been concentrated mainly in the provinces of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, causing serious concern among residents of these areas.

According to statistics from the Pakistan Institute of Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), 2025 has been one of the bloodiest years for Pakistani security forces. The report states that 667 Pakistani personnel have been killed in attacks, the highest number since 2011. Civilian casualties have also increased by 24 percent, reaching 580 deaths.

Balochistan, Pakistan’s largest but least developed province, has long faced armed insurgencies stemming from political grievances and disputes over natural resources. Experts warn that increasing coordination among armed groups could further complicate Pakistan’s internal security challenges and put greater strain on the country’s stability.
