Taliban Representative Meets French Diplomat in Doha to Discuss Bilateral Relations

A representative of the Taliban administration for Afghanistan in Doha met with the French chargé d’affaires for Afghan affairs to discuss the main aspects of bilateral relations. The meeting prioritized discussions on foreign policy focused on the economy, the state of health services, and the needs of returning refugees.

According to released information, the two sides also reviewed the future of diplomatic relations between Afghanistan and France. These talks are taking place while the Taliban administration has yet to be officially recognized by the international community.

Observers say that focusing on the economy and health services without transparent accountability regarding human rights challenges and equal access to services for all citizens cannot address the widespread concerns of the global community. Meanwhile, the situation of returning refugees continues to require clear planning and practical support.

In recent years, Doha has become a major center for political talks related to Afghanistan, with ongoing diplomatic contacts in the city.
