Wall Street Journal Acknowledges Iran’s Missile Capabilities to Retaliate in Any Potential Military Action

The American newspaper Wall Street Journal, in an analytical article, examined Iran’s military capabilities and stated that the country still possesses significant capacity to respond to any potential military actions.

According to the report, Iran has an arsenal consisting of thousands of missiles and has changed its tactical deployment methods of this capability in recent years. The article mentioned that Iran has about two thousand medium-range ballistic missiles capable of reaching some distant targets, alongside a substantial stockpile of short-range missiles.

The Wall Street Journal added that despite recent conflicts and a 12-day war, Iran remains capable of inflicting real damage on US interests and its allies in the Middle East. According to this analysis, Iran’s short-range missiles can target some US bases in the Persian Gulf as well as vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. Additionally, anti-ship cruise missiles, fast attack speedboats, torpedo boats, and drones are also cited as parts of Iran’s military capabilities.

The report further warned that any attack could quickly escalate to a broader level of tension. Quoting the US Council on Foreign Relations, the article noted that the United States currently has approximately 24 ground military facilities from Turkey to Kuwait and nearly 40,000 troops in the region.

Some military analysts mentioned in the article said that in the event of a conflict, Iran would likely prioritize positions near its coasts to utilize its large stockpile of short-range missiles.
