Taliban Ministry of Finance Orders Delay in Government Employees’ Salaries

Informed sources confirm that the payment of salaries for government employees for the month of Jadi has been delayed by order of the Taliban’s Ministry of Finance, halting the normal process of salary transfers. According to standard procedures, salary transfers should be finalized at provincial finance offices by the 3rd of each month; however, sources report that officials at the Ministry of Finance have instructed provincial finance office staff to refrain from sending or executing these transfers until further notice. This delay has caused widespread concern among government employees, who rely on their monthly salaries as their primary means to meet their families’ basic needs amid difficult economic conditions and reduced incomes. So far, no specific reason for the delay has been announced, and the Taliban’s Ministry of Finance has not provided any official clarification in response to inquiries. This silence has intensified criticism regarding the transparency and accountability of the administration.
