CENTCOM Announces Multi-Day Air Exercise in Middle East Amid Abraham Lincoln Carrier Deployment

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that a multi-day air exercise will be held in the Middle East concurrently with the deployment of the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln near Iran. According to CENTCOM, the primary objective of the exercise is to demonstrate the capability to deploy, sustain, and employ combat air power in the region.

Based on the released information, this military exercise is being led by the U.S. Air Force and focuses on testing the rapid relocation of aircraft and military personnel. Additionally, conducting operations from dispersed and contingency bases and carrying out missions with minimal logistical requirements are highlighted as key aspects of the exercise.

CENTCOM emphasized that the exercise is conducted with the approval of the host nation and in full coordination with military and civilian aviation authorities in the respective areas.

The U.S. Air Force command further stated that another goal of the exercise is to strengthen cooperation with regional partners and enhance the readiness of forces for flexible responses across the region, including the Middle East and parts of Central and South Asia.
