Afghanistan to Face Saudi Arabia in 2026 Asian Futsal Cup

The 18th edition of the 2026 Asian Futsal Cup officially kicked off today, Tuesday, January 26, in Indonesia, featuring 16 participating teams. The tournament is being held in four groups, with Afghanistan’s national futsal team among the competitors.
The matches are taking place at the Velodrome Stadium in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, which is hosting the group stage games of this continental tournament. Afghanistan will play its first match on Wednesday at 10:30 AM against Saudi Arabia.
Afghanistan is placed in Group D alongside Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Malaysia. This group is considered one of the toughest from a technical standpoint, making advancement contingent on consistent and well-planned performance.
This marks Afghanistan’s second appearance in the Asian Futsal Cup. During the preliminary round, the Afghan team earned their place in the main tournament with decisive victories against Myanmar and the Maldives. They now hope to gain valuable new experience at the continental level.
