French Socialist Party Nominates Afghan-French Reza Rezaei for Alfortville Mayoral Race

The French Socialist Party has officially announced Reza Rezaei, an Afghan-French citizen, as one of its candidates for the mayoral election in the city of Alfortville. The nomination was made public on Friday, January 22, coinciding with the party’s electoral ticket announcement.

According to released information, if the Socialist Party’s ticket wins, Reza Rezaei will serve a six-year term as a senior member of the leadership and management team at Alfortville’s city hall. This role entails significant decision-making responsibilities within the municipal administration structure.

Rezaei entered France in 2000 as a refugee and in subsequent years engaged in political and social activism. He is currently an active member of the French Socialist Party.

Additionally, Reza Rezaei holds a senior position at an organization called “Friend’s Cottage,” which in recent years has hosted multiple meetings and discussions regarding the situation in Afghanistan, focusing on social and humanitarian issues related to the country.
