Putin Announces Meetings with Trump’s Envoy and Jared Kushner on Frozen Russian Assets

Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced upcoming meetings with Steve Witkoff, the special envoy of US President Donald Trump, as well as with Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner. According to a Reuters report published on Thursday, January 22, the main focus of these talks will be the potential use of frozen Russian assets to rebuild areas damaged by the war. These assets have been frozen by Western countries since the start of the Ukraine conflict, and their use has remained one of the most contentious political and economic issues between Moscow and the West. Furthermore, the report states that Putin also intends to discuss this matter with Mahmoud Abbas, President of the Palestinian Authority. No official details have yet been released regarding the timing or location of these meetings.
