Trump Signs Order to Withdraw US from 66 International Organizations

The White House has announced that Donald Trump, President of the United States, has signed a presidential order to withdraw the country from 66 international bodies and organizations; a move that, according to American officials, is based on a reassessment of national interests.

According to released information, the order states that these organizations no longer serve the interests of the United States. White House officials, without providing further details, emphasized that continued membership in these bodies lacked political and economic justification.

This decision follows a policy approach that Trump adopted after his return to the White House. Last year, he also signed several executive orders under which the US again withdrew from the Paris Climate Agreement and the World Health Organization.

Meanwhile, Marco Rubio, the US Secretary of State, described the withdrawal from 66 international organizations as part of America’s review of what he called “inefficient” institutions. Rubio claimed that these bodies had been influenced by parties that sought to advance agendas detrimental to US interests.

The US Secretary of State also stated that President Trump finds it unacceptable to continue spending American taxpayers’ money on these organizations and insists on cutting these expenses.
