Iran and Afghanistan Hold Media Talks in Kabul to Boost Cooperation

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul announced that Abbas Mohammadnejad, Director General of International Affairs at Iran’s IRIB, met and held talks with Qari Mohammad Yousuf Ahmadi, Head of Afghanistan’s National Radio and Television. According to the released statement, the main focus of this meeting was to explore ways to expand media cooperation, including the exchange of working delegations and organizing joint training workshops. The meeting also highlighted the role of media in strengthening communication and understanding between the two neighboring countries, with both sides emphasizing the continuation of dialogues in this regard. Currently, Afghanistan’s National Radio and Television operates under Taliban administration, and the nature and content of media cooperation within this framework have consistently drawn attention from media organizations and freedom of expression watchdogs.
