Clashes in Aleppo Leave at Least Five Civilians Dead Amid Rising Tensions
Medical sources in Aleppo, Syria, have reported that at least five civilians were killed and 31 others wounded in recent clashes. These incidents coincide with escalating tensions in several densely populated neighborhoods of the city.
The director of Al-Razi Hospital in Aleppo stated that the injured were brought to the medical center after residential areas were targeted. According to him, most of the wounded sustained minor to moderate injuries, but some required surgical interventions.
Meanwhile, the local Aleppo administration affiliated with the Jolani regime announced coordination among government agencies to evacuate residents from the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods. The central committee for incident response in the province also declared readiness to implement emergency measures should the clashes escalate.
According to a reporter from Alikhbariya, despite ongoing displacement of residents from these neighborhoods and surrounding areas, the atmosphere in Aleppo remains one of fragile calm. The Syrian Civil Defense organization stated that over three thousand civilians, primarily from Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh, have been relocated to safe locations.
In contrast, the Syrian Democratic Forces have rejected claims of a full restoration of calm in Aleppo. Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General stated that Antonio Guterres has expressed deep concern over reports of civilian deaths and injuries, urging all parties to de-escalate tensions and protect civilians.
