Amritsar Business Council Highlights Key Role of Air Exports in India-Afghanistan Trade

The local business council of Amritsar city in Punjab, India, has emphasized that exporting agricultural products through air routes can play a pivotal role in expanding trade relations between Afghanistan and India and boosting the regional economy.

According to Indian media reports, this perspective was expressed during a meeting held to explore trade opportunities between the two countries via Amritsar International Airport. Representatives of traders and related organizations attended the session.

Participants discussed the existing capacities for exporting and importing goods, especially agricultural products, through the Amritsar air route and regarded this route as a suitable option to facilitate trade and reduce transit barriers.

They believe that effective utilization of this route could enable faster access of Afghan products to Indian markets, while simultaneously creating new opportunities for bilateral economic cooperation.
