Afghan Saffron and Dried Fruits Featured at China International Import Expo
The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Afghanistan announced that, to support legal livelihoods and sustainable economic growth, it facilitated the participation of Afghan agricultural products in the China International Import Expo.
At this event, known as the China International Import Expo, Afghan saffron branded as “Jahan Saffron” was showcased alongside 15 varieties of dried fruits. According to the agency, this initiative led to the signing of new sales contracts.
UNODC stated that the purpose of this effort is to assist residents of agricultural communities and strengthen legitimate markets for Afghan products, enabling farmers to achieve sustainable income through legal channels.
Observers believe that participation in such major international exhibitions not only expands markets but also plays a crucial role in raising global awareness of Afghanistan’s agricultural products, especially saffron.
