Afghan Freedom Front Attacks Taliban Intelligence Checkpoint in Surobi
According to released information, the Afghan Freedom Front forces targeted a Taliban intelligence checkpoint in Surobi district of Kabul province on the evening of Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at around 6:30 PM.
This checkpoint was located near the Surobi police headquarters, and according to the Afghan Freedom Front, the attack was carried out as a tactical operation.
As a result of the incident, two armed personnel affiliated with the Taliban administration were killed and another member of the group was wounded.
The Taliban administration has not yet issued an official response regarding the attack and the reported casualties; attacks of this nature once again raise questions about the security situation and the extent of the Taliban administration’s control over the areas surrounding Kabul.
