EU Warns of Severe Humanitarian Impact from Restrictions in Gaza

The European Union has warned of serious humanitarian consequences resulting from the ongoing restrictions on aid organizations operating in the Gaza Strip and has called on Israel to remove existing obstacles. The EU emphasized that the continuation of this situation poses a serious threat to the lives of civilians.
In a statement issued by the European Union, Israel’s cabinet was urged to reconsider the law regulating the registration of international non-governmental organizations. According to the EU, the enforcement of this law effectively hinders the effective operation of humanitarian organizations in Gaza and diminishes their ability to respond to the urgent needs of the population.
The EU cautioned that these restrictions could force some aid organizations to withdraw from the Palestinian territories, an action that would halt critical assistance such as food, medicine, drinking water, and shelter for Gaza’s residents.
The statement further noted that humanitarian needs in Gaza and the West Bank have reached their highest levels, and without reopening crossings and ensuring safe and broad access to emergency aid, the situation for civilians will deteriorate further.
Additionally, the EU called for the removal of all barriers facing international organizations and UN-affiliated agencies, stressing that continuing these restrictions amid winter and damaged infrastructure will significantly increase the suffering of the civilian population.
