Afghan Health Minister Highlights Crucial Role of Private Sector in Improving Healthcare Services

The Taliban’s Minister of Public Health has emphasized the significant and complementary role of the private health sector in the country’s healthcare system, stating that providing quality services is not possible without coordination and supervision.
Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali made these remarks while sharing the Ministry of Public Health’s monitoring results with representatives of the private sector. He stressed that health services must be delivered based on accepted standards and in full coordination with the relevant authorities.
According to him, the private sector must separate medical practice from commercial interests and prioritize the health of the population over mere profit-making.
The Minister also urged private health institutions to improve the quality of healthcare services by utilizing domestic products and existing resources within the country, thereby enhancing people’s access to quality healthcare.
