Venezuelan Opposition Leader Offers Nobel Peace Prize to President Trump

Maria Corina Machado, a prominent Venezuelan opposition figure, has announced her willingness to transfer her Nobel Peace Prize to Donald Trump, the President of the United States; a position she expressed in a televised interview.

According to media reports, Machado, in a conversation with Fox News, attempted to portray Trump as a peace-seeking and justice-driven individual, stating that she has considered him deserving of the award from the very beginning. Although the opportunity to take such action has not yet arisen, she expressed her desire to present the Nobel Prize to Trump.

The Venezuelan politician had previously been considered one of the main candidates to lead the country’s future political landscape but, according to published analyses, she currently lacks the support of the U.S. President. Some experts attribute this distancing to the Nobel Peace Prize issue and related disagreements.

Earlier, The Washington Post reported that the U.S. President has no intention of supporting Machado’s bid for the Venezuelan presidency. Additionally, Trump has remarked, referring to the state of pro-Western movements in Venezuela, that Machado does not have sufficient backing among the public there.
