UNODC Distributes Work Kits to 200 Trainees in Badakhshan

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Afghanistan, with support from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), has distributed professional work kits to 200 trainees in Badakhshan province. This initiative is part of programs aimed at supporting the rehabilitation of individuals affected by substance use disorders. It seeks to facilitate their sustainable reintegration into normal life and society. After completing technical training in fields such as tailoring, embroidery, confectionery, electrical wiring, car upholstery, and plumbing, the trainees have now received the essential tools to begin practical work. UNODC officials state that providing vocational skills and access to work tools can enhance income generation, self-sufficiency, and the reintegration of these individuals into their local communities.
