Deteriorated Germsir-Lashkargah Road Severely Disrupts Residents’ Daily Life

Residents of Germsir district in Helmand province have expressed deep concern over the poor condition of the road connecting their district to the city of Lashkargah. They say the damage to this route has severely impacted their daily lives.

According to the residents, due to extensive road destruction, a journey that normally took about one hour now takes up to six hours. This has caused serious difficulties for patients, workers, and traders traveling this way.

The road, approximately 70 kilometers long, connects Germsir district to the provincial capital Lashkargah and is considered one of the main transportation routes in Helmand. However, it has been left unrepaired for years without any significant maintenance.

Residents state that despite the road’s importance, the Taliban administration has so far taken no effective action to reconstruct it, and neglecting transport infrastructure has increased economic and social pressures on the local population.
