German Newspaper Highlights Zelensky’s Delicate Position Following US Action Against Venezuela
A German newspaper has reported that following the United States’ move against Venezuela, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s political position has entered a sensitive and precarious phase.
According to the Berliner Zeitung, US President Donald Trump’s attack on Venezuela and the abduction of its President Nicolás Maduro have created circumstances where any response from Zelensky could have serious consequences for Kyiv.
The report emphasizes that the Venezuelan crisis acts like a minefield for Zelensky; meaning that any hasty or incorrect stance could further weaken his position.
Berliner Zeitung added that the European Union is also facing a similar situation, as European countries are concerned that an inappropriate reaction to the US actions might upset Washington—a concern that could ultimately diminish Ukraine’s standing in political calculations.
The newspaper also noted that the US’s kidnapping of the president of a sovereign country has sparked waves of negative reactions in parts of the world.
