Over 1,300 Unregistered Vehicles with Tinted Windows Stopped at Kabul Entrances

The Taliban’s Ministry of Interior has announced that its public security and traffic police stopped 1,310 vehicles without legal documents and with tinted windows at the entrance gates and checkpoints of Kabul over the past week.
Abdul Mateen Qanih, spokesperson for the Taliban’s Ministry of Interior, stated on Monday, January 4, that among these vehicles, 127 were identified within Kabul city itself and, after being stopped, were taken to the police town.
According to him, 1,183 other vehicles attempting to enter Kabul were denied entry and sent back to their respective provinces.
This move comes as the Taliban administration has previously reported numerous incidents of stopping vehicles without proper documentation and with tinted windows in various parts of Kabul. However, many residents of Kabul have repeatedly criticized the lack of transparency in how these measures are implemented and police arbitrariness, calling for the law to be applied uniformly and with accountability.
