Rising Clashes in Darfur Heighten Humanitarian Crisis Concerns

Following an escalation of military clashes in Sudan’s Darfur region, concerns over the worsening humanitarian situation have intensified. Reports indicate that dozens of civilians have died in recent days as a result of the fighting, and no safe zones remain for displaced people.

Media outlets report a deterioration in living conditions in Darfur, where war-affected residents face shortages of shelter and limited access to basic services. International circles have also warned that the situation in this part of Sudan is increasingly spiraling out of control.

Sudanese civil organizations, expressing deep concern over the ongoing violence, have called for an immediate halt to attacks on civilian areas. They emphasize that the continuation of the conflict directly endangers civilian lives.

This comes amid a backdrop where Darfur was already grappling with a severe humanitarian crisis, particularly in health and food sectors, even before the recent flare-up. According to reports, 114 people were killed in just the past week due to clashes between Rapid Support Forces and the Sudanese army.
