Pakistan’s Awami National Party Urges Immediate Reopening of Trade Routes with Afghanistan

The Central Council of Pakistan’s Awami National Party has stated that the continued closure of trade routes with Afghanistan is directly harming the economies of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces and called for these routes to be reopened as soon as possible.
Members of the council emphasized in a meeting that a significant portion of the livelihoods of residents in these two regions depends on trade with Afghanistan, and that trade restrictions are increasing economic pressures on ordinary people.
During the meeting, tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan were described as a threat to regional peace and stability. Members stated that war is never a solution to problems and that its consequences only harm the people.
The Central Council of the Awami National Party urged both sides to respect each other’s sovereignty and resolve all differences through dialogue and diplomatic channels. They warned against allowing political disputes to lead to economic disconnections and harm to citizens’ lives.
