Explosion in Lakki Marwat Kills One, Injures Eight Amid Rising Insecurity

An explosion in Lakki Marwat has left one person dead and eight others injured. According to obtained information, the blast occurred when a bus belonging to the “Lakki Cement Factory” struck a roadside mine. The incident took place in the jurisdiction of Lakki Marwat district, one of the insecure areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Local sources report that following the explosion, the bus was also fired upon. Among the injured are two women. The bus was used to transport residents of the Bigokhel area and employees affiliated with the factory.

As of the time of reporting, no group has claimed responsibility for the incident. Pakistani police stated that they are closely monitoring the security situation and investigations into the circumstances and perpetrators are ongoing.

This event comes amid a recent increase in armed attacks and counter-security operations in Lakki Marwat and surrounding areas, causing serious concern among local residents.
