Venezuela’s Vice President Vows to Defend Maduro Amid US Claims of Arrest

Venezuela’s Vice President, in response to the United States’ claim regarding the arrest of Nicolás Maduro, stated that senior officials of the country are fully prepared to defend Venezuela and reject any actions against national sovereignty.

According to Al Jazeera network, in a televised speech from the capital Caracas, the Venezuelan official called for the release of Nicolás Maduro and his wife, emphasizing that Venezuela will not be under the domination or colonization of any country.

He urged Venezuelan citizens to remain calm and united, stating that national unity is essential to overcoming the current situation and that the incumbent government continues its activities. He added that the country’s officials are ready to face any challenges.

Speaking alongside Venezuela’s foreign and defense ministers, Rodríguez asserted that Caracas will not allow any military aggression and opposed the violence reportedly inflicted on Venezuela.

The Vice President also stressed the preservation of the country’s independence and the defense of future generations, saying that the Venezuelan people have resisted pressures and aggressions, and this path will continue.

These remarks come as US President Donald Trump announced that his country has carried out a major operation against Venezuela, claiming the arrest of Nicolás Maduro and his wife — a claim that has faced widespread international reactions and opposition.
