US Secretary of State to Take Central Role in Managing Venezuela Situation, Reports Bloomberg

As Caracas officials emphasize defending Venezuela’s sovereignty, an international media outlet has reported that following recent developments, the US Secretary of State will assume a key role in managing the country’s situation.

International news agency Bloomberg, citing informed sources, stated that Marco Rubio, the US Secretary of State, has emerged as the central figure in handling the Venezuela case after the abduction of the country’s president. These sources did not provide further details about the mechanism of this role.

Previously, several American media outlets had identified Rubio as the main architect of President Donald Trump’s policies in the Western Hemisphere, especially Latin America; a role that, according to this report, has now become more prominent than before.

According to these reports, on Friday night, the United States kidnapped the Venezuelan president and his wife during an attack on Venezuela; a move that received negative reactions from some countries and was called a violation of the United Nations Charter and international law. Concurrently, amid Washington’s threats of broader attacks, Venezuela’s Vice President emphasized resistance against what he termed “American imperialism.”
