Two Former Military Pilots Return to Afghanistan After Taliban Mediation

The Commission for Contact with Afghan Personalities has announced that two military pilots affiliated with the previous administration have returned to Afghanistan following the commission’s mediation. According to the commission, immunity cards have also been issued to these individuals.
In a statement, the commission said that the process of contacting and encouraging these two pilots to return was carried out within the framework of the Taliban administration’s announced programs, aiming to facilitate the return of professional individuals.
The returning pilots stated that after the fall of Kabul, they had left the country due to what they called “false propaganda,” but now, upon their return, they have not faced any specific problems. These remarks come amid ongoing concerns about the practical guarantee of immunity and citizenship rights for those who have returned.
According to the claims of the Commission for Contact with Afghan Personalities, over the past four years, hundreds of high-ranking officials from the previous administration who had left the country have returned through the commission’s efforts. However, independent bodies and the families of some returnees have repeatedly called for greater transparency, reliable guarantees, and monitoring of the Taliban administration’s treatment of these individuals.
