Israeli Media Claim Trump’s Actions Against Venezuela Aim at Energy Resources

Some Hebrew-language media have acknowledged that US President Donald Trump’s claim of fighting drug trafficking serves as a cover to pressure Venezuela and gain access to the country’s energy resources.

According to Al Mayadeen, these media outlets wrote that Washington’s main focus is the blockade of Venezuela’s oil and energy sectors, not combating drug trafficking networks. They believe the media narrative does not align with the political and economic realities.

Further reports state that the clashes early Saturday in Venezuela are essentially part of a broader competition over energy resources and advanced technologies, involving various international actors.

These media have also pointed to US military actions against Venezuela, noting that the bombing of parts of the country and reports of an attempt to abduct Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro have triggered a wave of negative reactions in several countries—reactions that highlight concerns about worsening the crisis and violating international principles.
