Germany Confirms Deportation of 83 Afghan Asylum Seekers Accused of Crimes in 2025

German officials have announced that during the year 2025, 83 Afghan asylum seekers involved in criminal cases have been deported from the country and returned to Afghanistan.
The newspaper Bild reported on Sunday that in the most recent case, an asylum seeker accused of a crime was transferred to Afghanistan last Friday. The newspaper did not provide further details about the nature of the crime or the specific location of the transfer.
According to data from Germany’s Foreign Nationals Registration Center, by the end of November 2025, approximately 11,888 Afghan asylum seekers have been registered in Germany and are legally obligated to leave the country.
Alexander Dobrindt, Germany’s Interior Minister, told Bild that the return of asylum seekers must be possible “even to Afghanistan.” He added that individuals who commit crimes in Germany must leave the country, and the German government is actively pursuing this policy in practice.
