European Diplomat Warns Europe Is at Risk of Becoming a Target Amid US Military Actions in Venezuela

A senior European diplomat in Brussels has warned that the US military action in Venezuela and the abduction of its president send a troubling message to the international community, especially Europe. Speaking to TASS news agency, the European official stated that the direct use of force to advance political goals, even at the cost of violating the sovereignty of United Nations member states, demonstrates Washington’s overt reliance on military leverage. He noted that this message has been clearly conveyed to European capitals as well. According to the diplomat, for the first time in 75 years, NATO and European countries see themselves not as political partners but as potential targets vis-à-vis the United States, particularly in light of Washington’s demands concerning Greenland. He emphasized that this situation has created a security vacuum on the European continent. The official added that as a result of these concerns, several European countries are seeking to accelerate programs to independently strengthen their military capabilities, outside the US security umbrella. Meanwhile, the US military incursion into Venezuela and the abduction of its president have faced negative reactions from various countries. Several political analysts have warned that such actions could escalate tensions and lead to broader regional and international conflicts.
