Russia and Iran Condemn US Military Action and Arrest of Venezuelan President Maduro

Russia and Iran have officially condemned the United States’ military action in Venezuela and the arrest of the country’s President Nicolás Maduro along with his wife, calling it a clear violation of Venezuela’s national sovereignty.
US President Donald Trump announced that American forces entered Venezuela during a night operation. According to him, Nicolás Maduro and his wife were detained and removed from the country; statements that have attracted widespread international attention.
The Russian Foreign Ministry described the move as concerning and warned that such actions could escalate tensions in the region. Moscow called on all parties to resolve disputes through dialogue and diplomatic means.
Furthermore, the Russian Foreign Ministry expressed solidarity with the people of Venezuela and supported the position of Venezuelan officials and several Latin American leaders who have called for an urgent United Nations Security Council meeting.
Meanwhile, the Iranian Foreign Ministry, in a separate statement, condemned the US military action in Venezuela, deeming it contrary to the recognized principles of national sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries. The statement emphasized that such actions are incompatible with the fundamental rules of the United Nations Charter and international law and require examination and response within the framework of international institutions.
