India’s Foreign Minister Describes Afghanistan’s Situation as Difficult, Highlights Ongoing Cooperation

India’s Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar has described the current situation in Afghanistan as difficult, emphasizing the need to address several challenges. He made these remarks during a conversation with students at an Indian university. In response to a question from an Afghan student about the outcome of his meeting with Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Taliban administration’s Foreign Minister, Jaishankar referred to the meeting as “positive.” According to him, the discussions focused on areas of mutual interest. The Indian Foreign Minister added that his country is working with Afghanistan in the fields of development, food aid, and healthcare services. He stressed that these collaborations aim to address the urgent needs of the Afghan people. Jaishankar’s comments come at a time when Afghanistan continues to face severe economic pressures and service limitations, making sustained international engagement a critical necessity for the people of the country.
