Erdogan Warns Netanyahu’s Actions in Gaza Will Not Go Unanswered

Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of Turkey, has sharply criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, warning that his actions in Palestine, especially in the Gaza Strip, will not go unanswered. Erdogan referred to Netanyahu as the “Pharaoh of our time” and emphasized that what is happening in Gaza today will remain etched in the conscience of humanity.

According to the Turkish president, widespread scenes of solidarity with the Palestinian people at the beginning of 2026—particularly the large gathering on the Galata Bridge in Istanbul—demonstrate that Palestinians have not been abandoned in the face of pressure and violence. He described this popular presence as a sign of public sensitivity towards the situation in Gaza.

Erdogan, pointing to the widespread suffering of civilians—especially displaced children in Gaza—said that these painful images will continue to live on in the global conscience, and that the ethical and humanitarian responsibility for this situation lies with its perpetrators. He added that injustice and the suffering of the oppressed will sooner or later implicate those responsible.

The Turkish president also announced that Ankara will continue sending humanitarian aid to Gaza and will maintain its firm stance in supporting the rights of the Palestinian people. He stressed that Turkey will not back down from political pressures in this regard.

In another part of his remarks, Erdogan stated that he is scheduled to have a phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump next Monday. He said the call will cover the Palestine issue as well as the crisis in Ukraine for discussion and exchange of views.
