Poll Shows 56% Dissatisfaction with Trump’s Performance in 2025

A reputable poll in the United States reveals that Donald Trump, the current US president, ended 2025 with a high level of public dissatisfaction, with 56% of respondents expressing disapproval of his performance.

According to a report published by Forbes, Trump’s popularity at the end of 2025 has not only declined compared to the same period during his first term but is also lower than that of Joe Biden, the former US president. This decline is seen as a sign of decreasing public trust in the first year of his second presidential term.

Data from the Economist/YouGov poll indicates that Trump’s popularity at the end of 2025 was three percentage points lower than at the end of his first year in office and seven points below Biden’s popularity at the same point. In that poll, Trump’s approval rating stood at 39%.

Forbes’s analysis of these results emphasizes that the state of the US economy has played a fundamental role in the drop in the president’s popularity. More than half of participants, 51%, stated that the country’s economic conditions have worsened over the past year, a factor directly linked to negative evaluations of the administration’s economic management.

The poll was conducted between December 26 and 29, 2025, with 1,550 American citizens participating, and has a margin of error of 3.6%.
