Truck Overturns on Herat-Kandahar Highway Due to Flooding

According to images circulated on social media yesterday, a truck overturned on the Herat-Kandahar highway, in the Dasht-e Bakwa area, due to flash flooding caused by heavy rains.

The footage shows a large volume of water causing the driver to lose control, with the truck completely submerged in water. So far, there have been no reports of casualties from this incident.

In recent days, heavy rainfall and sudden floods have affected various parts of Afghanistan, damaging roads and vehicles. This situation has especially made travel along main highways difficult.

Local authorities have warned of flood dangers and urged residents to avoid unnecessary travel on flooded routes and to consider road conditions before traveling.
