Taliban Claims Diplomatic Progress and Security Force Training Achievements in 2025

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Taliban administration, claimed on Wednesday, December 30, 2025, in a message posted on X that the administration had made significant achievements in diplomacy and international relations during the year 2025.
According to him, Russia recognized the Taliban administration this year, and cabinet members, including deputy prime ministers and ministers, undertook a total of 99 foreign trips. Mujahid stated that these visits aimed to strengthen diplomatic ties and pursue economic and trade matters.
The Taliban spokesperson also announced that the Ministry of Defense had increased the number of trained security forces to 181,084, and over the past year, more than 100,000 police officers received training in security, criminal affairs, border control, and logistics.
However, these statements come at a time when the Taliban administration remains unrecognized by a large segment of the international community. Critics argue that the lack of transparency, extensive restrictions on citizens’ rights, and the exclusion of women from public life have posed serious challenges to efforts to normalize Afghanistan’s international relations.
