Iranian Consul Emphasizes Cooperation with Taliban Administration Amid Shared Economic Challenges

The Iranian Consul in Nangarhar stated that Iran and the Taliban administration face common challenges, particularly economic pressures, and under such circumstances, cooperation and solidarity between the two sides are essential. Majid Rezapanah made these remarks during an introductory meeting with journalists in Nangarhar, saying he believes that economic sanctions imposed by foreign countries target both parties. He stressed that these conditions require greater coordination to overcome economic difficulties. The Iranian Consul also noted that after years, overall security in Afghanistan has been established, and the current focus should be on economic growth and development. He said Iran stands alongside the people of Afghanistan and the ruling administration, viewing economic cooperation as beneficial for both nations. Meanwhile, local officials in Nangarhar called for the expansion of sustainable cooperation between Iran and the region in commercial and economic sectors. The head of industry and commerce in Nangarhar said developing trade routes could provide greater convenience for residents. The head of foreign affairs in Nangarhar described bilateral relations as extending beyond politics, rooted in historical and cultural ties between the peoples. The Iranian Consul also announced continued collaboration in health, the establishment of cold storage facilities, vocational centers, and technical projects in the province, mentioning that a well-equipped hospital for diabetes treatment has been constructed in Nangarhar.
