Taliban Transport Delegation Travels to Oman for Technical Talks with Muscat

The Taliban’s Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has announced that Haji Mulla Hameedullah Akhundzada, the minister of this department, traveled to Oman on Tuesday leading an official delegation.

According to released information, the purpose of this trip is to hold talks and exchange views with high-ranking Omani officials on strengthening and developing land transport and aviation. It is expected that the dispatched delegation will hold meetings with relevant Omani authorities during this visit.

During these meetings, in addition to exploring ways to expand bilateral cooperation between the two sides, several important issues related to the transport and aviation sectors will also be discussed.

Oman is one of the regional countries that, in recent years, has played a mediating role and maintained cautious diplomatic engagements with developments in Afghanistan. The technical talks in the transport sector can be seen as part of these interactions.
