Taliban Administration Condoles Death of Hamas Spokesperson Abu Obaida

In the latest response to developments in Palestine, Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Taliban administration, issued a statement expressing condolences over the killing of Hudhayfah al-Khalut, known as Abu Obaida, the spokesperson for the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, along with several commanders of the movement.
In the statement, Mujahid described these individuals as “martyrs for the cause of Islam” and said that, in his view, they achieved their objective. The Taliban spokesperson offered sympathy to Hamas as well as to the families and relatives of the deceased, wishing them patience and perseverance.
He also added that, according to the Taliban administration, the blood of those killed could pave the way for the liberation of Palestine from occupation; remarks that reflect the administration’s political and ideological stance and its official perspective on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas also confirmed in a separate statement the deaths of Abu Obaida, their spokesperson, and Muhammad Sinwar, brother of Yahya Sinwar and a former prominent figure in Hamas leadership. These statements come as the Taliban administration reacts to external developments while Afghanistan continues to face extensive domestic challenges, including economic and human rights crises.
