Afghan Liberation Front Attacks Taliban Checkpoint in Kunduz

The Afghan Liberation Front announced that on Friday evening, January 1, it targeted Taliban administration forces in the city of Kunduz. According to the front, the attack resulted in the death of two Taliban members and the injury of two others.
According to the released statement, the incident took place at a Taliban administration checkpoint near the Mufti Seraj Mosque on Bandar Imam Sahib Street in Kunduz city. The Liberation Front stated that the attack was carried out in a guerrilla manner and that Taliban forces at the location were targeted.
The statement further noted that during the operation, a military vehicle carrying Taliban forces caught fire and was completely burned. No additional details were provided regarding other possible casualties or the situation of the area.
This attack occurred only one day after a similar incident in Faryab province. On Thursday, December 31, the Liberation Front announced it had targeted the Taliban administration’s appellate court building in Faryab with rockets, which according to the front, killed four Taliban members and wounded two others.
The Taliban administration has not yet responded to these attacks. The rise in such security incidents raises renewed questions about the state of security, the effectiveness of protective measures, and the consequences of ongoing armed conflicts on the lives of civilians.
