UN Trust Fund Reports Expansion of Essential Services in Afghanistan
The United Nations Trust Fund for Afghanistan has announced that access to essential services plays a key role in preserving human dignity and enhancing community resilience in the country, with ongoing efforts in this area.
According to the information, the fund has focused its support on areas most in need, where people’s access to basic services has been limited, through joint interventions with UN-affiliated agencies.
It further states that with the help of international donors and cooperation from various UN offices and programs, projects have been implemented in health, education, water infrastructure, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH).
Humanitarian experts emphasize that continuing such support is critically important in the current conditions of Afghanistan to prevent worsening social and human vulnerabilities among residents in different regions of the country.
