Taliban Intelligence Chief’s Assistant Killed in Kabul Explosion

Sources close to the Taliban administration have confirmed that Mawlavi Nauman, the assistant to Abdul Haq Wasiq, head of Taliban intelligence, was killed on Saturday, December 26, in Kabul city.

According to these sources, Mawlavi Nauman died as a result of an explosion of a gas balloon or cylinder inside his residential home. Following the incident, members of his family, including children, were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Despite the significance of this security event, as of the time of this report, the Taliban police in Kabul have not provided any official explanation regarding the cause of the explosion or details about the death of this intelligence official.

The lack of transparency and silence from the Taliban security agencies concerning such incidents raises further questions about internal security conditions, the immunity of the administration’s officials, and citizens’ access to accurate information.
