Taliban Ministry of Finance Denies Reports of Delayed Government Employee Salaries

The Taliban-run Ministry of Finance has denied reports of delays in paying government employees’ salaries, stating that the payment process is proceeding normally.

Abdul Qayyum Nasir, the ministry’s spokesperson, announced that there has been no interruption in salary payments and that the process is moving according to plan. He added that after receiving reports from all relevant departments and directorates, salary disbursements will be made at the beginning of next week.

In recent months, concerns have been raised among some government employees regarding delays in receiving their salaries; concerns that add further strain to daily life amid the country’s difficult economic conditions.

However, the Taliban administration has consistently sought to downplay such reports in order to present a normal picture of salary payments—a matter that government employees expect to be implemented transparently and regularly in practice.
