Second International ‘Al-Ghaliboon’ Conference Held in Mashhad on Qassem Soleimani Anniversary

The second international conference “Al-Ghaliboon” was held on the evening of Saturday, December 26, in the city of Mashhad, coinciding with the approach of the sixth anniversary of the martyrdom of General Qassem Soleimani. The event focused on examining the views and functions of the school attributed to him in regional developments.
This conference was organized by the Cultural Foundation of Afghan Residents in Iran and attended by a number of figures affiliated with the Resistance Axis, cultural and social elites, and a group of intellectuals from the Afghan immigrant community residing in Iran. The organizers described the meeting as an effort to foster consultation and exchange of ideas among intellectual and cultural activists in the Islamic world.
Speakers at the gathering, recalling the role of the martyr General Qassem Soleimani, emphasized topics such as the unity of the Islamic Ummah and vigilance against what they referred to as “external challenges and threats.” In the speeches, Soleimani’s school of thought was introduced as an intellectual framework for convergence and resistance.
Hojjatul-Islam wal-Muslimeen Vahidi, head of the Cultural and Social Foundation of Afghan Residents in Iran, described the martyr Soleimani as an influential figure among the peoples of the region and stated that his approach was based on creating bonds among various Islamic currents and sects.
According to Mr. Vahidi, support for various resistance groups was not limited to any specific religion or nationality, and this approach has led to reducing differences and strengthening cooperation among different groups. He referred to the continuation of this perspective as one of the main pillars of this conference.
In another part of the program, the Friday Prayer Imam of Mashhad pointed to the wide influence of the resistance discourse, saying that this ideology has transcended geographical borders and has attracted attention in various environments, including scientific and social circles outside the region.
Ayatollah Alamolhoda added that after the martyrdom of General Soleimani, this movement was not weakened but rather gained more resonance at the regional and supra-regional levels.
At the end of the conference, participants stated that the purpose of holding such meetings was to strengthen dialogue, intellectual synergy, and keep alive the perspectives related to the resistance movement.
