New Water Supply Network Completed in Bechiragam, Nangarhar

A water supply network in the village of Nasir, Bechiragam district, Nangarhar province, has been completed and put into operation with a cost of 3.6 million Afghanis. The project was implemented by the Nangarhar Directorate of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, affiliated with the Taliban’s Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development.
According to the press office of the ministry, the network includes a water reservoir with a capacity of 20 cubic meters and 95 water taps installed in different areas of the village. Additionally, about 11 kilometers of piping have been laid for water transmission in the project.
Officials say that during the implementation of this project, temporary jobs were created for dozens of local residents, and after its completion, approximately 300 families have gained access to safe drinking water.
Local residents welcome access to clean water, while it is expected that the Taliban administration will be accountable not only in announcing projects but also in ensuring quality implementation, budget transparency, and continuity of services—issues that remain a concern in many parts of the country.
