Kabul Residents Complain of Rising Rent Amid Economic Hardships

Residents of Kabul have expressed concerns over rising house rents, stating that economic pressure has made it difficult for them to pay rent and has affected their daily lives.

According to these residents, the increase in rent prices, coupled with declining household incomes, has forced many to move frequently or accept inadequate housing conditions. They believe this situation reflects a lack of effective management in the rental market.

Earlier, the Taliban’s Ministry of Justice announced plans to review the activities of real estate offices in order to control and reduce rent prices. Despite this announcement, Kabul residents emphasize that no significant changes have yet been observed in the housing market.

Critics say the Taliban administration’s declared measures will not succeed without practical oversight and accountability. They expect supervision to be implemented seriously, transparently, and effectively to prevent further pressure on low-income families.
