UNDP Highlights Local Progress in Afghanistan Amid Ongoing Crises in 2025

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has reported that despite persistent crises, Afghanistan witnessed progress and achievements in health, livelihood, and social sectors in 2025.
On Wednesday, December 23, as the new year approached, the UN agency stated that its activities indicate the image of Afghanistan is not limited to challenges alone. In many areas, signs of improvement and local cooperation have been observed.
According to the provided information, clinics were reactivated during 2025, farms were restored, women-led businesses expanded, and several families were able to return to their homes. Local communities also played an active role in reconstruction and solidarity efforts.
The report noted that children had access to safe drinking water, and both women and men received quality healthcare services for diseases such as HIV, malaria, and tuberculosis.
