Turkish Official Condemns Netanyahu’s Remarks Against Ankara as Irrational and Destabilizing

A senior Turkish official has strongly criticized recent statements by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, describing Tel Aviv’s policies towards Ankara and the region as irrational and destabilizing.

Boran Eldin Doran, head of communications at Turkey’s Presidential Institution, said Israel’s ongoing stance against Turkey’s regional power and role is nothing but a mocking confrontation. He emphasized that these policies have led to widespread instability in the Middle East over recent years.

The Turkish official added that Ankara, under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, sees itself as a guarantor of regional peace and stability, while Netanyahu’s cabinet, he claimed, is the primary cause of bloodshed, pain, and suffering in Palestine and Syria, acting as an occupying power. Doran referred to current events, calling them “one of the most horrific genocides in history,” and described Israeli officials’ accusations of others’ expansionism as contradictory.

He further stated that over the past two years, Tel Aviv has instigated conflicts against several Middle Eastern countries, a situation that has had disastrous consequences not only for the region but also for the people of Israel. According to him, such statements and “worthless tricks” will not deter Turkey’s continued support for the Palestinians.

These reactions came after Netanyahu recently held a meeting in Jerusalem with the Prime Minister of Greece and the President of Cyprus. The final statement of the summit emphasized expanding security and technical cooperation among the three parties.

In the meeting, Israel’s Prime Minister claimed that peace and stability would be ensured through the power and cooperation of these countries and indirectly criticized countries he said sought to revive empires; Hebrew media reported that his reference was aimed at Turkey.

Without mentioning Tel Aviv’s role in regional tensions, Netanyahu claimed that Israel does not seek conflict and desires peace, stability, and the protection of maritime passages. He described cooperation with Greece and Cyprus as an “alliance” and expressed hope that this union would not be tested.

Meanwhile, Hebrew media reported that Israel, Greece, and Cyprus are planning to establish a joint rapid reaction force in the Eastern Mediterranean. According to the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, this force will involve ground, air, and naval units, with thousands of troops deployed on Greek islands, Cyprus, and occupied territories; the main goal is reportedly to counter Turkey.
