Taliban Embassy Acting Head Meets Chabahar Free Zone Official to Discuss Economic Cooperation

The acting head of the Taliban administration’s embassy in Tehran visited the port city of Chabahar, where he met with the official in charge of the Chabahar Free Economic Zone to discuss expanding economic and trade cooperation.

According to the embassy’s press release, the meeting was held at the invitation of the Chabahar Free Zone official. Both parties discussed ways to develop economic relations, effectively utilize the capacities of the free zone, and increase trade exchanges.

During the session, they also addressed facilitating exports, easing conditions for traders, and expanding transit routes through the port of Chabahar.

Chabahar port, as a significant transit hub in southern Iran, holds considerable economic and transit importance for landlocked countries, including Afghanistan, and has consistently been a focus in regional dialogues.
